Logbook Memories ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HolidayMessenger mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

The short version: HolidayMessenger is designed to respect your privacy. We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal information. All data stays on your device.

2. Information We Don't Collect

HolidayMessenger is built to operate entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your contacts or contact information
• Your message content or templates
• Your message history or recipient lists
• Your device identifiers or location data
• Your usage patterns or analytics data
• Any personal information whatsoever

3. How the App Works

Local Data Storage

All data you create in HolidayMessenger is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:

• Message templates you create
• Message history (sent messages)
• Pro purchase status (managed by Apple)

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.

Contacts Access

To help you select recipients for your messages, HolidayMessenger requests access to your Contacts. When you grant this permission:

• We read contact names and phone numbers to display in the contact picker
• This information is accessed in real-time and not stored by the app
• Contact data is only used to personalize messages you choose to send
• No contact information is transmitted off your device

You can revoke contacts access at any time in your iPhone Settings → HolidayMessenger → Contacts.

Messages Integration

When you send messages, HolidayMessenger uses Apple's native MessageUI framework to present the Messages app. The actual sending is handled entirely by Apple's Messages app, not by HolidayMessenger. We do not have access to:

• The final sent message content
• Delivery status of messages
• Recipients' responses

Shortcuts Integration (Pro)

Pro users can integrate with Apple's Shortcuts app for automated messaging. This integration:

• Uses secure, one-time tokens for authentication
• Temporarily stores recipient data in the device clipboard (managed by iOS)
• Communicates with the Shortcuts app using local URL schemes
• Does not transmit any data off your device

4. Third-Party Services

Apple Services

HolidayMessenger integrates with Apple's platform services:

• App Store & In-App Purchases: Pro purchases are processed through Apple's payment system. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchase information.
• iMessage/SMS: Messages are sent through Apple's Messages app. Apple's privacy policy applies to message transmission.
• Contacts Framework: Contact access is managed by iOS permissions.

We do not use any other third-party services, analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking services.

5. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by:

• Your device's passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
• Apple's iOS security architecture
• App sandboxing (data is isolated from other apps)
• iOS encryption when device is locked

We have implemented additional security measures:

• Token Security: Pro tokens are device-bound, time-limited (5 minutes), and single-use only
• No Network Transmission: The app does not make any network requests to external servers
• Local Processing: All message personalization happens on your device

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

• Delete Individual Items: You can delete any template or message from the app's interface
• Delete All Data: Deleting the app removes all stored data permanently
• No Recovery: Since we don't have copies of your data, deleted information cannot be recovered

Pro purchase status is stored by Apple and will persist across app reinstalls if you use the same Apple ID.

7. Children's Privacy

HolidayMessenger is designed for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect any personal information from any users, regardless of age.

Parents should supervise children's use of messaging features to ensure appropriate content and recipients.

8. International Users

HolidayMessenger is available worldwide. Since all processing happens locally on your device and no data is transmitted to our servers, there are no international data transfer concerns.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

While we do not collect personal information, California residents have the right to know:

• What We Collect: Nothing. We do not collect personal information.
• What We Sell: Nothing. We do not sell personal information.
• What We Share: Nothing. We do not share personal information.

10. GDPR Compliance (European Users)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Data Controller: Logbook Memories is the data controller
• Legal Basis: We process contacts data based on your consent (iOS permissions)
• Data Subject Rights: You have rights to access, correct, and delete your data (all managed locally on your device)
• Data Processing: All processing occurs locally on your device within the EEA

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be announced in the app or through the App Store update notes.

Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Your Choices and Controls

You have full control over your privacy:

• Contacts Access: Grant or revoke at any time in Settings → HolidayMessenger → Contacts
• Message History: Delete individual or all sent messages from the History tab
• Templates: Delete any template you've created
• Pro Features: Pro tokens are automatically deleted after use or expiration
• Complete Data Deletion: Uninstall the app to remove all local data
